Karl Stecher for Senate District 28

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in my campaign. My name is Karl Stecher. I’m a retired neurosurgeon, an avid birdwatcher, a proud father of three beautiful daughters, a grandfather, and the now I’ve added Republican candidate for Colorado State Senate District 28.

I moved to Colorado in 1973 to join the full-time faculty of the University of Colorado Medical School. I performed surgery and taught at Denver General, Colorado General, and the VA. Throughout my career, I have remained involved in politics. I have always been happy with my decision to spend my life here. I have watched as our beautiful state has developed into a wonderful home for so many people.

I’m launching my campaign to keep Colorado a safe haven for wildlife, to build on our economy, and because I know what our community can do when we work together. I feel deeply that those of us who have lost jobs, lost income, and lost businesses due to the current COVID crisis. I will work to restore our quality of life. I will vote to protect your families and vote to keep law and order in Colorado and in America.

It is my honor and privilege to have been asked to run for this seat. Over the years, I have worked hard as a citizen to help build a solid foundation for the people of Colorado, especially in the realm of healthcare and patient advocacy. I hope I can win this seat to continue this endeavor as a State Senator, where I will vote to strongly support people and the environment.
